Rarely does a show catch on the way the Tartan Terrors have in Jim Thorpe.
Their first visit to the Mauch Chunk Opera House was in 2005 and they’ve returned every year since for what have become can’t-miss performances, with an extra show being added.
Known as North America’s premiere Celtic Comedy event, the Terrors, who hail from Toronto, Ontario entertain with theater and humor as well as some blistering bagpipes courtesy of their world-champion instrumentalist Sean McKeown.
A perfect fit in a town that tends to go a little crazy for this particular weekend, the Tartan Terrors prefer to stay in town an extra day after their Friday and Saturday performances are over, so that they can participate in the revelry. The many open houses that line the parade route through town are more than ready to welcome them.
