The 2nd Annual Bluegrass & Anthracite Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday September 18th at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park. This is an event that has made great strides in its organization and just plain fun quotient during it’s 3-year existence.
Mauch Chunk Lake Park is located 2 miles from the downtown historic district of Jim Thorpe. This year’s event will again feature performers such as Jay Smar and Blue Roots as well as some new performers including The Three of Us and Aimless Pursuit. A number of local favorites including Pat McGeehan and the Coal County Express are also scheduled to appear on state.
The festival will also include a number of crafters, food vendors, and exhibits relating to Anthracite Coal Mining and local history. There is a $2 admission fee to the event for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. The event will run for 10 am – 10 pm with overnight camping accommodations available.
