Irish rockers Black 47 will be taking the stage at the Opera House this weekend on their first visit to the Opera House.
The fit seems appropriate – interest in all things Irish is always high here in Jim Thorpe, and Black 47 has always maintained their connections to Ireland, particularly since bandleader Larry Kirwan was born and raised there (check out our earlier post – an interview with Mr. Kirwan). Black 47 has always had a decidedly political edge to their music – sort of a combination of Clash and the Wailers with some Chieftains for good measure.
Adult refreshments will be served the proceeds of which will benefit the Opera House. So bring your friends, anoint a designated driver, and hoist a few for the house! It’ll be a great show, see you there!
